Does PlanITROI need to inspect the equipment to determine values?
Inspections are useful at times, however, they're not necessary for us to provide a current market value upfront. We are a professional organization and expect IT departments to provide us with fair and accurate information. We base our pricing on functional, complete equipment with normal wear and tear. However, we do accept defective and valueless equipment for revenue share and recycling. Our assessment of the equipment we receive will in fact enable us to confirm that the value provided is in line with the model, age and condition of the asset as provided by you.

How is the value confirmed?
PlanITROI confirms pricing based on date of receipt at PlanITROI's authorized facility to the stated date on the quotation. If there are any discrepancies, PlanITROI will notify you within 10 days of receipt. Discrepancies include: product (type, model, configuration, condition), quantity, date of receipt vs. quoted date. Discrepancies can affect the final trade-in pricing and services provided in securing the highest return on investment.

What are the minimum quantities PlanITROI accepts for trade-in?
There no minimum quantity restrictions for equipment valued over $100 per unit. PlanITROI handles trade-ins on a global scale, but if the resale value is less than $100 it may not be worth the effort.

What is the primary objective of the ROI program?
The primary objective is to maximize your return, while at the same time meeting environmental and security compliance and minimizing your costs by delivering real value for your old technology.

How do companies benefit from a trade-in?
PlanITROI helps companies, through Section 1031 of the federal tax code, reduce the cost of their investment in new products and services by offering credits from old products to offset the purchase of new products and/or services.

Is there a tax benefit to trading in computer equipment?
According to Section 1031 of the Federal Tax Code, businesses are not currently taxed when continuing their investment in 'like' property through an exchange of similar property (i.e. trading in old product for new). In one recent trade-in, a client exchanged (traded in) 120 units and earned a credit of $200 each. They applied a $24,000 credit toward new equipment. If the client had sold or auctioned the product for the same $24,000, they would have incurred nearly $12,000 in capital gains taxes.

What happens after I consign my equipment to PlanITROI?
PlanITROI determines the fastest way to secure the highest ROI for the equipment based on its age, condition, quantity and type. These four factors determine whether we sell to corporations, retailers, online merchants, broker/dealers or exporters. Based on sales value and the buyer we determine if the equipment needs extra work to attain the highest ROI.

Will I have to de-install, package and ship the assets?
PlanITROI quotes are based on de-installed, packaged and ready-to-ship equipment. De-installation and packaging services can be provided at customer expense. PlanITROI can also handle all the details of collection, packing and shipping if requested. There is no charge for logistics and transportation associated with Toughbooks.

How long is PlanITROI pricing valid? And how often is the pricing Valuator updated?
Quotes are valid for a period of sixty (60) days from date of issue. However, there are exceptions for longer-term quotes, for rollouts and lease residuals. Please call a sales representative for a long-term quote. The published pricing valuator will be updated every month.

Does PlanITROI offer recycling for valueless assets?
Yes, PlanITROI offers complete recycling for valueless assets at the customer's expense at the rate of $.30 per pound, however Toughbooks are recycled at no charge. PlanITROI will certify proper environmental disposal and indemnify your organization from any risk or liability.

Can PlanITROI coordinate an employee transaction program?
PlanITROI can coordinate a program for clients who wish to sell their equipment to company employees. The client still recovers the full market value of the equipment and fosters employee satisfaction while PlanITROI spares you the hassle of customer service, warranty, and liabilities.

Does the equipment have to be working?
No, but in order to get full market value it helps for the equipment to be in complete working condition with no cracks, dents or burnt screens. There is a large market for defective and incomplete assets as well, but again the market value is far lower. Max return on Grade A, B and C equipment: Value for Grade A = 100% of trade in value, value for Grade B = 75% of trade in value, and value for Grade C = 50% of trade-in value which is the max return on defective equipment. There is no trade-in value assigned for Grade D units and this equipment may be recommended for recycling. PlanITROI will, however, analyze the equipment for possible sale of parts or repair based on a 50/50 split of the return. PlanITROI will not exceed the stated trade-in value for the purpose of making repairs.

How does PlanITROI confirm asset condition and grade?
Audit/Test/Grade process:
- Unpack equipment.
- Scan and record into database: (manufacturer, model number, serial number, cosmetic code) and sort for VALUELESS and physically damaged units to be recycled or broken down for parts.
- General diagnostic tests based on type of equipment are performed.
- Record into database full configuration along with defective and missing parts codes.
- Data Security: DOD 5220.22-M standard compliancy data erasure of each hard drive or media.
- Asset tags removed and any other material identifying the company.

How does PlanITROI's Exchange Program differ from a trade-in?
Through its Exchange Program, PlanITROI gives you REAL MARKET VALUE vs. fair market value. Real market value is what the market will buy your equipment for. PLANITROI provides both a buyout price for downside protection and revenue share for upside potential. This gives ours clients REAL MARKET VALUE and aligns their needs for obtaining the highest possible (ROI) Return on Investment.

Why Would a Client Decide to Take Advantage of the Exchange Program?
Some clients must not use cash-back or rebate incentives by law. For such clients, this Exchange Program permits remarketing of retired or surplus IT assets with the benefit of lowering costs for higher performance assets. The Exchange Program complies completely with all GSA Property Management Regulations (FMR) 102.39) that were created to minimize governmental acquisition costs.

How Would I Arrange to Take Advantage of PlanITROI's Exchange Program?
You simply arrange with a professional and friendly PLANITROI representative to have your obsolete IT assets shipped from your facility to our depot. It's as simple as this 4-step process…

Step #3. PlanITROI audits inventory, checks it against the original quote, reconciling any discrepancies, and issues a complete report within 10 days of receipt.
Step #4. PlanITROI issues credit using the Property Management Regulations (FMR) 102-39 as a guideline within 30 days of audit.

Are there any hidden costs or restrictions to the exchange program?
No, we simply turn your retired IT assets into an exchange utilizing the following formula. After completion of audit and confirmation of grade, PlanITROI will pay client by issuing a credit to the reseller or OEM of Public Sector agency's choice, by using the Property Management Regulations (FMR) 102-39 as a guideline, within 30 days of audit.
Formula for settlement:
(unit sale price) X (XX% to client or guaranteed buyout which ever is highest) - (service fees) = client's NET ROI

What fees are incurred through this program?
There are no fees if the value of your obsolete or excess IT assets is greater than the fee for services (you chose). Also, if we receive IT assets from you and our inspection shows:

(B) The IT asset will not work or lacks components
(C) The value of the IT asset is less than the services requested by the agency
